At Tenaris, we believe that an industrial project means a long-term investment and commitment to the communities where we operate. We are not just building a facility; we are committed to being a community partner.
In the two years since the project was announced, Tenaris has made significant investments in the community in terms of education and involvement of its people.
A partnership between Tenaris, Wharton County Junior College and industry partners in the county, the Manufacturing Technology program allows students to earn a two-year Manufacturing Technology AAS degree or a one-year mechanical technician certificate.
The Tenaris Student of the Year scholarship, in partnership with the Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture is awarded annually to a student in Matagorda County. It is a $60,000 award given over the course of four years.
The Tenaris Merit Awards are scholarships given to five graduating seniors majoring in STEM-related fields from Bay City High School and Van Vleck High School. Each winner receives up to $20,000 granted over the course of four years.
Tenaris encourages employees and their families to give back to the local community through volunteer activities aimed at promoting community development.
